Budget all solid mandolin. After a good setup (which we do), the mandolin plays well, and doesn't sound half bad. This is the lowest price mandolin we recommend.
The Rover RM-75 mandolin with a wooden hard-shell case.
Mandolins sold by Folkmusician receive full fret jobs and bridge work in addition to the standard setup routine. The result is the best playing RM-75 available anywhere at any price.
Another surprise from Rover. After a good setup (which we do), this solid top mandolin plays pretty well, and sounds good. A nice increase in volume and tone over the Rover RM-35. The RM-35S uses a solid spruce top and laminated back and sides. You can really dig in with the pick and the mandolin responds. Quite the treat for the player on a budget.
