The Kentucky KM-1500 is the next step up from the popular KM-1000. Moving to the KM-1500 you get a Fern inlay, multi-ply binding, hand engraved tailpiece, mother of pearl tuner buttons and a great "Loar" replica case.
Aside from the cosmetic upgrades, the 1500 has a radiused fingerboard and slightly more depth to the body. Let's start by saying that the KM-100 is a great sounding mandolin. The KM-1500 takes this one step further. The voice between the two is very similar with the 1500 having more volume, a slightly richer tone, and improved response and dynamic range.
