ABOUT OUR SETUP:
When purchasing from Folkmusician, you receive a violin that has been worked on by a professional luthier here in our shop.
The violin is inspected.
Each tuning peg is removed and then fitted and lubricated.
Fingerboard is inspected and planed as needed.
Nut is filed and string height is set (at the nut).
Bridge feet are fitted, bridge thickness is set, string height at the bridge is set and the bridge is arched.
Tailpiece length is set
Bridge position is set
Soundpost is adjusted
These steps result in a violin that sounds and plays significantly better than what our competition offers (even though the violin may be the same model).
